The Southwestern Athletic Conference is the oldest HBCU athletic conference, founded in 1920. The SWAC competes at the NCAA Division I level in football (FCS) and basketball, and is home to some of the most storied HBCU programs in the country — Jackson State, Grambling State, Florida A&M, Prairie View A&M, Southern, and more.
